EMPLOYMENT LAW

Your Job + Your Worries + Our Advice = Your Solution

The field of employment law can sometimes better be described as a mine field.  From an employer’s perspective ensuring that employees have been issued with adequate contracts of employment is just the first step in the many obligations that an employer owes to the workforce. From time to time an employer may be required to address issues of under-performance, absence or discipline with employees. On the other side of the coin an employee may have issues relating to the manner in which they are being treated at work, a failure to observe statutory employment protection rights or have a grievance to raise. In either case the issue can escalate, be time consuming and result in litigation.

When a disagreement arises rarely will an employer or employee race to court or to an employment tribunal. Resolving the dispute, where that is possible, may maintain the relationship, can be cost efficient and most likely will be the least stressful route for all involved. It is important to take advice at the earliest opportunity. We have experience in acting for both employers and employees. We are regularly instructed to negotiate and prepare Settlement Agreements.  When acting for employees our fee will usually be met by the employer.

We deal with both contentious and non-contentious matters of employment law. When we believe your case would be best resolved through litigation we will represent your interests in employment tribunals and courts.

We can provide advice on:

  • Settlement Agreements (formerly called Compromise Agreements)
  • Contracts of Employment
  • Discipline and Grievances
  • Dismissal
  • Restrictive Covenants and Post Termination Obligations
